In the news: Video explains how scientists use DNA to check for Asian carp

We’ve covered recent stories on the blog before about scientists searching for traces of Asian carp in Great Lakes waterways by using DNA, but just how does that work? 

Well we’re in luck, as this video from the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel explains the process employed by scientists to find the aquatic invasive species by searching for traces of their DNA in waterways that could harbor the carp.
