Resilient Chicago will include presentations and discussions on historical climate trends and expected changes in temperature, precipitation, and ecosystem health. Workshop attendees will learn how to incorporate climate adaptation planning into their current community plans as well as how to address the challenges of adaptation planning.
During the day-long event, planners will hear from Joyce Coffee, managing director of the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Index, as well as representatives from numerous local organizations, including the Chicago Wilderness, Alliance for the Great Lakes, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.
The workshop is hosted by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, the Midwestern Regional Climate Center, and the Illinois State Climate Office.
